Very true, but at the same time, this is there 3rd iteration of the multiplayer. If they're going to keep including it, these problems should be ironed out by now imo. Just because it's not the main focus doesn't mean it shouldn't be just as polished, especially because it was a heavily advertised part of the game this time around.
Farcry 5 has better multiplayer and Coop. You get to customize your own character, theres arcade where you can fight other players, create your own maps, play maps created by other people, and theres 3 dlcs which also supports coop. Much more to do honestly, I found this one more enjoyable for multiplayer. Farcry 4 multiplayer is dead but coop
