I have looked at it for agaes but what i dont inderstand is that my cigarette lighter base has 8 ridges where there is only one hole to push threw.I am thinking this is the wrong cigarette lighter.I would think it only has 1 ridge to go through that hole cheers.

The Mk3 Mondeo is one of Ford’s more reliable models, second only to the iconic Focus. Most of the model’s known problems are relatively easy and affordable to fix. 1. Electrical issues. It’s common for fuses to blow in the Mk3 Mondeo, often resulting in the cigarette lighter, the headlamp washer system or the interior lights not working.
2.1-Identify if the cigarette lighter fuse has blown on Ford Focus. Note that almost all the fuses in your Ford Focus are grouped together in the fuse box. You can easily locate it using the logbook of your Ford Focus. Usually it is located near the battery, which means under the hood if not under the steering wheel.
It would work fine on the 7.5, just not on his older car. Bummer. This is the correct fuse BTW. it's a battery fed connection, so you'll have one side of that fuse fed to the live of the cigar lighter, and the other side is permanently live and on the battery busbar. Like all these new CANBUS cars, everything is always live and switched by
About $75 shipped. Amazing video night and day. I did have to mod the 12vdc lighter outlet to a switched outlet. Took about an hour to pull the console out, t-tap into a switched wire off the JBL head unit and re-install everything. I am not a smoker so a switched cig lighter was not an issue. Chef Duane
It will turn off eventually. At least the one in the center console does. I have not tried the front console port. However, plugged in over night, a good battery will not be drained. A couple days maybe. I find that in my ranger which doesn't have a great battery will die after a few days to a week with my Garmin plugged in.
First thing I did was look at the fuse diagram and the fuse. My car is a 56 plate Ford Fiesta MK 6.5 and the fuse diagram illustrates a 15A fuse is needed. The fuse box had a 20A surprisingly inserted insteadhowever the fuse seemed fine with no breaks. I tried a 15A fuse and still the cigarette lighter wouldn't work.
ds99 said: Yes, I think I will go for a 10w charger. I just need to work out if the cigarette light remains powered when the car is off and locked. Just plug something in (phone charger, navigator etc.) and monitor the time it remains on, Normally not constant, so prepare for hard wiring to the battery or fuse box.
Hi, just bought a 2011 Fiesta Zetec and found there is no power to the cigar lighter. Thought it would be a straightforward job of replacing the fuse as there wasn’t even one in there for the cigar lighter and got a replacement cigar lighter in case it was that.
Once found, still using the booklet for your Mercedes A-Class or on the fuse box cover, identify the cigarette lighter fuse. Remove it with the pliers available in the box. If you notice in the non-opaque part that the conductive wire is broken then this implies that the fuse has overheated and that is why you have a cigar lighter problem.
This is the second adapter I have tried. I bought a new adaptor as I just thought the previous one might be faulty, but this new one doesn't work either. I don't think it is the fuse as this age of Mondeo still has the actual cigarette lighter heating element included. If I push the cigarette lighter down it heats the element, no problem.
In this instance the remedy is relatively simple. Buy a new battery, type CR2032 or CR2025 and exchange the broken battery by the new one and you’re done. You do not have to reprogram the remote key with a simple exchange of battery. You have the ability to buy a fresh battery for your Ford Mondeo remote key fob on Amazon by using these next
